Let's Party

As if brewing approachable, extraordinary beers 5 days a week wasn't enough already we're throwing our collective hats into the ring of the Hard Seltzer. And, if our experiences at Twin Cities Burger Battle and Grumpy's Art-A-Whirl party this past weeked are any indication of enthusiasm for this stuff, things are going to be quite fruity and fun this summer. Comprised of flavors including: Grapefruit, Berry, Blood Orange, and Lemon Lime there's sure to be a little something for everyone in this package. We spent nearly a year working on recipes, flavor combinations, new processes, packaging and identity work across all departments. We now can proudly say the fruits (pun definitely intended) of our labor are yours to enjoy.

FATE Brewing Co. Shuts Down

FATE Brewing Co. Shuts Down

FATE Brewing Co. Shuts Down

FATE Brewing Co. in Boulder, Colorado has shuttered its brewery after 6 years of existence.

The brewery received wide acclaim locally and nationally, but due to a number of factors outlined in a heartfelt letter from the brewery, FATE closed down this month.

According to the letter from the brewery, a planned expansion was a significant reason why the brewery closed down: "This expansion would allow us to increase our brewing capacity and expand to an off-site production and distribution center. After great efforts and significant costs, the federal licensing authorities denied a brewpub license for the space due to a technicality with the layout, despite a previous production brewery and taproom successfully operating in the space for over 20 years. This project, although mostly unknown to the public, was something that FATE continued to carry the burden of financially."

Also, per the release from FATE, the brewing was under constant attack from the local paper: "...we have been a continual target by our local community paper. The inaccurate coverage, reporting errors and negative targeting has had a significant impact on our business, and correlates directly with a noticeable decrease in our volume, attrition of staff, misconception of closure, brand confusion and challenges for our team, time and time again."

The beer, Proteus, is a citrus ale brewed with key limes for a refreshing twist.

Brewed in the classic Flemish Red style, Red Flag is brewed in small batches on our 15 Barrel Brewhouse. The barrels are then hand selected and blended to create the most complex and seductive sour ale possible. Red Flag is the first sour offering in the Uncharted Waters series. Deep ruby in color, this barrel aged sour ale delights with sweet malt tones, complex fruit undertones and a deliciously tart finish.
