Dan Martich

Dan Martich's picture
Beer Judge

Drawn to craft beer by the Sam Adams radio spots that aired in the early 90s. He's been homebrewing for 20 years, and a BJCP judge for seven.  Dan calls himself the "beer hound" because finding good beer on his travels is what makes his tail wag.

Becoming a BJCP judge solidified his interest in craft beer, and improved the quality of his homebrews. He's enthusiastic about beer competitions and has won many awards.  He is an exam grader for the BJCP, and most recently spent a week in Germany to educate himself on Altbier in Dusseldorf, and Kolsch beer in Koln.

With a moderately high fresh floral, fruity hop aroma this beer definitely makes an entrance.  But wait, there's also a slight fresh herb quality with caramel, and some fruity pear esters too.  The color is yellow gold crowned with a moussy white head that last, and last.  A light viscosity...
