AB InBev Takes New Jersey Wholesaler to Court

After acquiring Seattle-based Elysian Brewing Company in January, Anheuser-Busch began transferring distribution rights for the brand to its network of distributors, according to a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

But the plan hit a snag in New Jersey, where Elysian’s current distributor Hunterdon Brewing Company rebuffed AB's fair market buyout offer of $562,883, or 5.5 times Hunterdon’s 12-month gross profits on Elysian sales.

AB has taken the matter to New Jersey District Court, seeking to be found in compliance with the New Jersey Malt Beverage Practices Act.

Anchor IPA

Anchor Brewing is one of the most storied and influential breweries in American craft beer history. It pioneered the American movement toward dry-hopped ales and never looked back.

Anchor’s unique bottle shapes, elegantly nostalgic label designs and beer style throwbacks (such as steam beers and English-style barleywines) also add to the mystique of this fabled San Francisco brewery.

Anchor IPA was first brewed in 2014 with healthy doses of 6 types of hops, but the real appeal of this brew is its supreme balance of malts and hops, which makes for a sweet, bready finish.

Alpine Bierfest

Alpine Bierfest is a beer sampling festival that will feature nearly 100 breweries and hundreds of beers of all styles and origins. The event will be held May 30th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Patrons will have 4 hours to sample as many beers as they would like while meandering through beer and non-beer related exhibit and vendor booths.
