Victor/Victoria (released in 1982) is a classic musical with music by the eminent Henry Mancini (winner of 4 Academy Awards and 20 Grammys) and lyrics by one of my personal favorites Leslie Bricusse (writer of the Goldfinger theme song, the oft-covered modern standard “Feeling Good,” and many other songs and scores [most importantly though, 1970’s Scrooge musical starring Albert Finney as Mr. Ebenezer]).
Inedit Damm was originally created in 2008 in collaboration between Estrella Damm brewery, world-renowned chef Ferran Adrià and award-winning elBulli sommeliers Ferran Centelles and David Seijas. This fascinating and complex brew features traces of coriander, licorice and orange peel and has won 4 medals at the World Beer Championships and 2 medals at the European Beer Star Awards. Allagash House beer is bright golden with a fluffy white head. The aroma has hop derived pear and grapefruit notes. The flavor is clean with a slight malt presence and a lingering hop bitterness.
Some of us have it and some of us don’t. You know what we’re talking about. That quintessential mark of a true man of beer legend, the very badge of the great brew masters the world over. Around here, we call it beard envy. And like this robust beer, it speaks volumes with words like “Put that razor down and take a drink.” With flavors of toffee, raisins and dark fruit accentuated by vanilla and a hint of bourbon balanced by the resinous pine notes of Chinook hops, this barrel-aged barley wine masterwork is as bold and hearty as the beards we salute.
Turn on, tune out, and drop into the groovy charms of this brew's flower power, murmuring words like "I dig it" with complete abandon. Drink in the essence of this creamy, light Belgian witbier with hibiscus and spices as you ponder the necessity of bathing and garments and the virtues of living in true brew harmony.

And here’s to the day we’ll all be able to walk to a nearby brewery and drink fresh beer in any town in America. That’s when there will be enough breweries per capita – whether they be nanos, micros, brewpubs or production breweries.
