SAN FRANCISCO — Sufferfest, the beer brewed by athletes, for athletes, proudly toasts to new regional launches in Oregon and Washington, where it will become widely available through its strengthened partnership with Columbia Distributing.

“We’ve had our sights set on Oregon and Washington for quite some time,” said Caitlin Landesberg, founder and CEO of Sufferfest. “The energy of the athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and health-conscious people in these regions is infectious and we’re so thrilled to finally serve these communities.”

The launch into PNW leads with its newest set of functional beers, aptly coined “beer with benefits”— FKT Pale Ale, Repeat Kolsch and Flyby Pilsner. Sufferfest’s purpose-brewed lineup features high-powered ingredients like blackcurrant, salt and bee pollen, all with an eye toward bettering that post-sweat recovery and celebration.

Bear Republic Brewing Co. in Cloverdale, California has announced the release of Sonoma Tart, a fruited sour with guava and passion fruit.

“Compared to barrel aged beers, Sonoma Tart is much more drinkable and crushable. The tartness activates your taste buds, gets your palate flowing while fruit essence comes through without cloying sweetness,” said Bear Republic’s Master Brewer Peter Kruger in a release.

The beer is named after California's Sonoma County and celebrates the region's wealth of agriculture in the region.

Gigantic Brewing in Portland, Oregon has announced the release of (fittingly) 666 cases of numerous Hellboy-inspired releases.

According to a release, Gigantic Brewing will release six different Hellboy beers with flavors inspired by fan-favorite characters from the Hellboy comic books. Each new beer will be a limited edition run of 666 cases  and will be released approximately every seven weeks.

The first beer features a maple syrup and pancake profile.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the publication of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, Oregon's Gigantic Brewing and Dark Horse Comics are teaming up to create 666 cases of Hellboy beer, based on award-winning cartoonist Mike Mignola’s legendary character. All told, Gigantic Brewing will release six different Hellboy beers, with flavors inspired by fan-favorite characters from the Hellboy comic books. Each new beer will be a limited edition run of 666 cases and will be released approximately every seven weeks. The first beer, Hellboy, features a maple syrup and pancake profile. Gigantic Brewing’s first Hellboy beer will be released in March, ahead of Hellboy Day on March 23, 2019, when comic book stores and fans across the country will celebrate twenty-five years of Hellboy comics and graphic novels.

Bricktown Brewery in Oklahoma has announced the release of a new Doppelbock beer to be tapped on Valentine's Day.

The seasonal release joins Single-String Stout, Old King Kolsch, Wiley’s One-Eyed  Wheat and Bluesberry Ale among the brewery's releases.

TULSA, OK - Doppelbock, a blend of noble hops from the heart of the growing region of Germany, is being introduced at a tapping parties on February 14th at Bricktown Brewery.

Bricktown Brewer, Cory Grey shared that, “Doppelbock is a traditionally strong German lager derived from imported German malt and characterized by a rich and malty sweetness.  The brew drink is deceptively smooth for a beer well over 7% ABV  and finishes with a slight spiciness that will warm you up on a chilly day.”

Bricktown also brews their own award-winning craft beers, which are ever-changing. Some of their beers include Single-String Stout, Old King Kolsch, Wiley’s One-Eyed Wheat and Bluesberry Ale, to name just a few.
