RavenBeer Unveils The Imp and The Madhouse Oyster Stout

RavenBeer in Baltimore, Maryland has announced the release of a new beer: The Imp and The Madhouse Oyster Stout.

The brewery is well-known for its Edgar Allan Poe-inspired beer names and recipes and The Imp and The Madhouse is no different.

With a name borne of Poe's The Imp of the Perverse short story, this Oyster stout is an eminently drinkable 6.0 percent ABV brew provides a subtle tang from the oysters and is also roasty and filling, as any good stout should be.

The full release from RavenBeer is below.

RavenBeer has great news to report. We are launching only our third product in three years and doing so with a style of beer that goes beyond our product portfolio.  It was in the fall of 2015 that RavenBeer released what may have been the world’s first dark kölsch, Dark

Usher.  This was followed with a draft only release of Grapefruit infused Tell

Tale Heart IPA.  Today, we wish to announce The Imp and the Madhouse

Oyster Stout.  This 6.0% stout is not your ordinary stout, but one brewed with Chesapeake Bay oysters. This imparts a bit flavor to the beer and saltiness to the beer.  Founder, Stephen Demczuk describes the newest addition to the Edgar Allan Poe series as “...a stout that is pleasantly drinkable but not dry like a Guinness but also not as sweet like a Young’s Chocolate stout.” The usual astringent roast flavor found in many stouts is not as prevalent in The Imp and the Madhouse Oyster Stout.

Reformation Brewery Debuts New Brut IPA

Reformation Brewery in Woodstock, Georgia has announced the release of a new Brut IPA as a part of its Nolan the Wanderer rotating IPA series.

Nolan the Wanderer Adventure 003 is a champagne-style Brut IPA that clocks in at 7.2 percent ABV and is "highly carbonated with notes of melon, pear, and apple followed by a dry champagne finish," according to the brewery.

The full release from Reformation is below.

When and where can I get it?

Available from the brewery starting Friday, Oct. 12, look for our most recent release, a champagne-style Brut IPA in draft and 12oz cans at independent retailers near you.

I can’t find Nolan, can you help?

The best way to find your favorite Reformation beer near you is to ask your local retailer to place an order! We also recommend Untappd, which has a handy app-based mobile beer finder.

What’s this 003?

Adventure #003 is the third release for 2018 in our rotating IPA series, Nolan The Wanderer. This version is our take on a Brut IPA, an emerging style of India Pale Ale inspired by the champagne it’s named after. This highly carbonated beer has notes of melon, pear, and apple followed by a dry champagne finish at 7.2% ABV. Check the bottom of the can, or look for a sticker on the top of each 6-pack for the current adventure.

Description

Farmers are patient and understand it takes time for some things to mature. We followed their lead with our Whiskey Barrel Aged Lugene, named after our favorite farmer who has been hauling our spent grain to his dairy cows for years. We took a batch of our Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout, moved it into some Woody Creek Rye Whiskey barrels for six months. The result is a beer that is dynamic and complex, with aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate and toffee, and a smooth but full-bodied mouthfeel with subtle flavors of rye spice and vanilla.

Description

Rupture was born out of our obsession with getting the most out of each and every hop. In fact, we built a machine in our brewery to incorporate a unique fresh grind process. By grinding the whole hop we “rupture” the lupulin inside – releasing the oils that give the beer its flavor. And what we grind that day we use that day. Leaving you a beer that’s fresh, aromatic, with a bright hoppy character.
