Fort Collins, CO. - Arrre you ready? Jolly Russian has returned. Encouraged by popular demand, Odell Brewing has re-released their rum barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout as part of their Cellar Series.
Jolly Russian is a rich Russian Imperial Stout, aged in fresh Rum barrels from Mt. Gay Distillery in Barbados. Distilling since 1703, Mt. Gay is the oldest rum producer in the world.
"We hunted down some super fresh barrels to age this beer” explains Brewer Marni Wahlquist. “The rum soaked wood imparts bold characters into the beer that beautifully compliment the warmth of the higher ABV.”
At 13%, this is the highest ABV beer Odell Brewing packages for distribution. Dark as night and thick as the raging sea, this brew boasts flavors of coffee and cocoa with notes of oak, spiced molasses, dried fruit and vanilla.
Jolly Russian will be available in limited quantities as a single 12oz bottle across Odell’s 18-state distribution footprint.
