Drake's Brewing Co. Unveils Brightside Extra Brut IPA

Drake's Brewing Co. out of San Leandro, California has announced the release of a new brew in an interesting nascent style.

Brightside Extra Brut IPA is a Brut IPA, which combines elements of modern American IPAs and champagne, including a light golden and fizzy appearance. The beer is available now in six-packs throughout California.

The full release from Drake's is below.

San Leandro, CA | After months of test batches and experimental releases, Drake’s Brewing Co. is excited to announce the special release of Brightside Extra Brut IPA in six-packs. Drake’s has played a pioneering role in the development of the new Brut IPA style since it emerged at the beginning of 2018 in San Francisco. The pale, dry, highly-carbonated, Champagne-esque beer has quickly become an innovative platform for hop appreciation.

Fruity, crisp, and hoppy, Brightside Extra Brut IPA features notes of white grape skins, citrus rubbed pine needles, and orange creamsicle. Hop additions include Simcoe, Hallertau Mandarina, Centennial, and Hallertau Blanc. Amylase enzymes are added during production to fully ferment malt sugar, creating a super dry finish, which is a key characteristic of the Brut IPA style. Brightside Extra Brut IPA finished fermenting at 0.0 degrees plato and 7% alcohol by volume.
