New Belgium Celebrates 25 Years of Fat Tire

New Belgium Celebrates 25 Years of Fat Tire

Fat Tire is one of the most recognizable and popular craft beer brands of all time. Because of its widespread acclaim, popularity and availability, New Belgium Brewing Company announced today that it has partnered with 5 other popular regional craft breweries to produce a customized version of Fat Tire. The five breweries included are: Avery Brewing in Colorado, Allagash in Maine, Firestone Walker in California, Hopworks Urban Brewery in Oregon and Rhinegeist in Ohio.

Each brewery will use Fat Tire's base recipe but bring in ingredients and brewing techniques that are specific to them.

Each of these special releases will be available in a mixed 12-pack from New Belgium starting in mid-June.

Southern Brewers Conference 2016

Southern Brewers Conference 2016

Southern Brewers Conference

Craft beer is an industry replete with events and festivals. Many of them are a well-established and highly entrenched part of the fabric of the industry, but as the movement grows, so too does the desire for enjoyable, informative and interesting beer events. Many new beer events crop up every year, and 2016 is certainly no different.

It is my honor to introduce the Southern Brewers Conference as one of our Editor’s Choice events for our spring 2016 issue.

This is the inaugural rendition of the Southern Brewers Conference, which is a regional, industry-only event featuring a two-day trade show, educational seminars, social events, and more. The event begins on August 3 and lasts until August 5, and is located in Nashville, Tennessee. “The Southern Brewers is meant for education, networking and the growth of the craft brewing industry in the South,” according to an event spokesman.

Organized by Candace Price, founder of Half Full Productions, and Matthew Leff, founder of Rhizome Productions Inc., the Southern Brewers Conference will highlight beers brewed in the southern region. Specifically, beers and trends from the following states will be highlighted: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas.

Anderson Valley Brewing Company has released a new version of its popular The Kimmie, The Yink and The Holy Gose beer. After the widespread popularity of a version with blood oranges, Anderson Valley decided once again to use a fruit when making this beer. In this case, they decided the cool, sweet taste of watermelons would meld perfectly with puckering sourness of the base beer.

Briney Melon Gose releases today, March 1, in 12-ounce cans and bottles.

Here is a release from Anderson Valley:

Boonville, CA (March 1st, 2016) On the heels of its highly acclaimed gose series of beers, Anderson Valley Brewing Company announced today its latest release: Briney Melon Gose. Available in draft and twelve-ounce cans and bottles, the Northern California brewery will begin shipping Briney Melon to its distributors worldwide beginning in early March.

Elevation Beer Company has announced the release of two popular spring seasonals, Signal de Botrange and Raspberry Gulch. Botrange has been one of Elevation's most popular brews since becoming the brewery's first barrel-aged offering in 2012, and this year will mark the first time that Gulch will be released in 4-packs instead of corked-and-caged 750-ml bottles.

Here is the release from Elevation:

February 29, 2016 – Poncha Springs, Colo. – Elevation Beer Company is set to release its two highly anticipated spring seasonals, Signal de Botrange and Raspberry Gulch, in early March.

Signal de Botrange (9.8% ABV) is a Farmhouse Ale aged in Chardonnay wine barrels and is part of the brewery’s Double Black series. Named for the highest tower on the highest point in Belgium, Signal de Botrange is brewed in tribute to the traditional farmhouse beers of the Wallonia region. First released in the summer of 2012, Signal was Elevation’s first ever barrel aged beer.
