Heavy Seas Rolls Out Second Partner Ships Series Beer of 2018

Heavy Seas Beer out of Baltimore, Maryland has announced the second beer of 2018 in its ongoing Partner Ships collaboration series.

The beer will be a collaboration with Charlotte, North Carolina's NoDa Brewing Co., which is known for its excellent Hop, Drop n' Roll IPA.

"When deciding on what style to brew for this collaboration, there were a few core ideas: Hops. Summer. Fruit. This led us towards a hybrid style. Not quite IPA, not quite summer wheat, a Hoppy Wheat with Citrus Peel. We have a nice hybrid that is an extremely flavorful beer that will refresh both the hop lover and sunshine lover in general," said Heavy Seas Brewmaster, Christopher Leonard, in a release from the brewery.

The beer will be available soon, though only on draft. The full release from Heavy Seas is below.

BALTIMORE, MD --- The Partner Ships Series by Heavy Seas Beer will soon welcome its second collaboration in 2018, a Hoppy Wheat Ale with citrus brewed with NoDa Brewing Company of Charlotte, NC. This very limited, draft only release will be available in July.

Baxter Brewing Adds New Beer to Variety Pack

Baxter Brewing Co. in Lewiston, Maine has announced one of its newest year-round beers, Ein Stein Munich Style Helles Lager, will be joining its mixed 12-pack starting this month.

According to a release from the brewery, Ein Stein is "sunshine in a glass, a crisp and refreshing lager that we (and most Germans) find even more drinkable than a Pilsner."

Additionally, the brewery announced the return of its extremely limited-release double dry-hopped Double IPA, Bootleg Fireworks. Brewed with an incredible amount of hops (9 varietals to be exact), Bootleg Fireworks is "intentionally unfiltered, not well-balanced, and the malt profile is purposely light -- leaving a booming hoppy haze," according to a release from Baxter.

The full release from the brewery is below.

A BAXTER STORY IN FOUR CANS

From the Backpack to the Variety Pack, Baxters mixed 12 packs have been a labor of love to offer craft beer fans a chance to try and share our creations. Starting at the end of May, we are excited to offer a new lineup in a handsome package, whose beers tell a Baxter story for those who have known us and for the uninitiated.

Top 27 Authentic Belgian Beers

Top 27 Authentic Belgian Beers

Top 27 Authentic Belgian Beers

Modern craft beer would not be the same without the efforts and devotion to artisanal beermaking that our Belgian brewing forefathers put forth for centuries in advance of the rise of modern craft beer.

The full-bodied and delicious brews that those venerable breweries focused on set the table for the discovery and experimentation of early American craft brewing pioneers.

To honor those Belgian brewers, we’ve highlighted the best authentic Belgian beers that we’ve ever reviewed here at The Beer Connoisseur, dating back to our very first issue in 2009.

Of course, Belgium has perhaps the most storied history of any country when it comes to brewing delectable beers, so there are probably thousands that we have not reviewed here at BC. As always, this list is limited to beers that our judges have actually reviewed.

So pop open that aged cork-and-caged Quadrupel and sip it slowly while you read up on our list of the Top 27 Authentic Belgian Beers we’ve ever reviewed!

Influence. It’s the reason your mom cared so much about which friends you hung out with after school. It’s allowed people of average talent to make a living on Instagram. It’s also the reason your favorite music sounds the way it does.

Garth Brooks learned how to put on a kickass concert because he listened to a lot of KISS. Sonny John Moore wouldn’t be Skrillex without Nine Inch Nails, and if you think you like A$AP Rocky, you should really listen to Cam’ron.

The right song + the right artist + the perfect mood = your new favorite album. The formula is simple.

Let’s apply it to Thunderpeel, our Unfiltered IPA bomb of Citra, Galaxy and Mosaic:

The hops are Kanye West, the yeast is Daft Punk’s Discovery, fermentation is…OK, we’re not going to try to decode Kanye’s psyche, but you get the idea.
