Guns N' Roses Sue Oskar Blues Brewery Over Guns N' Rosé Beer Name

Guns N' Roses Sue Oskar Blues Brewery Over Guns N' Rosé Beer Name

Guns N' Roses Sue Oskar Blues Brewery Over Guns N' Rosé Beer Name

Legendary rock band Guns N' Roses is suing Oskar Blues Brewery due to copyright infringement.

Because of Oskar Blues's beer Guns 'N' Rosé, the band is seeking unspecified damages from trademark infringement.

According to the lawsuit, the band claims that Canarchy Craft Brewery Collective's Oskar Blues attempted to trademark the name Guns 'N' Rosé but the band, not unexpectedly, objected to that name.

The band, which is led by lead singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, had asked Oskar Blues to stop selling the beer, but Oskar Blues said it would continue to sell until March 2020.

The band's complaint claims that the brewery “should not be entitled to continue to sell infringing products and intentionally trade on the GNR’s goodwill, prestige, and fame without GNR’s approval, license, or consent.”
